Provides skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

 

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power toolsConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other componentsTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systemInstalls, repairs, and maintains motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulationsStudies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installationsRepairs and maintains high voltage systemsOrganizes work by receiving and studying work orders; gathering tools and suppliesReading prints, layout work and installing new serviceRepairs electrical problems by replacing faulty parts and componentsMaintains electrical systems by conducting system tests; completing preventive maintenance requirementsKeeps supplies ready by placing ordersMaintains safe work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with codesUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publicationsAccomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as neededContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededAll other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Must be able to speak and understand English, ability to speak Spanish is a plusRequires some ability to read plansAbility to work effectively with a variety of internal and external constituencies from varied and diverse backgrounds, including line and executive staff, person representing industry, corporate, government, and community based organizationsAble to adapt communication style to the speaker and possess a high degree of active listing skillsMust demonstrate emotional intelligence; being aware of the motions of self and othersMust be able to operate equipment such as: table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging and form systemsStrong teamwork orientationPositive attitude and professional customer service skillsDetail orientation

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

 

Lead team members by example in:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

High school diploma or GED is requiredTrade or technical school certification/diploma is requiredApprentice aptitude test is requiredUnion specific training is requiredProject specific/Mortenson training is requiredMinimum two years of related experienceCurrent drivers licenseCooperate with others when in a team environmentAccept direction from supervisorsFollow work rules and proceduresPunctual and consistent attendance

Must hold current Journeyman Electrician

Must be able to pass background investigation

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening  

 

 

Preferred Journeyman Electrician License in one of the following states:

Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota,  Wyoming, and Florda.
