Note: New to state civil service employees will be hired at the minimum of the salary range.
The incumbent will act as a construction code inspector and will conduct inspections for compliance with construction, maintenance, use and occupancy requirements involving mobile home parks, special occupancy parks and employee housing facilities; conduct inspections for code compliance of manufactured housing, mobile homes, commercial modulars and special purpose commercial modulars for alterations and issuance of approval insignia; issue construction permits and inspect all phases on construction of new mobile home and special occupancy parks; provide technical information relative to laws and regulations under the Department's enforcement authority to local enforcement agencies, the general public; contractors and design professionals.
Must pass a physical examination as a condition of employment.
Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's license.
If hired, candidate must attend mandatory training in Sacramento for up to six months.
The candidate must live within 25 miles of their assigned geographical area within nine months of appointment.
If hired, candidate must be able to travel throughout assigned area and must be available for overnight travel as needed.
