This entry level position will assist in applied research projects and conduct analysis of emerging chemical constituents in water. This position conducts routine chemical, physical, and microbiological tests; prepares reagents and standards; operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instruments; assists in improving and/or implementing testing techniques and procedures; and learns and assists to evaluate data and prepare technical reports. In addition, this position may provide back up to the Assistant Chemists at any one of the treatment plant laboratory locations and/or at the main Water Quality Laboratory in La Verne, as needed. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Relevant Experience is defined as: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Sciences or Engineering.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
