Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a Cost Engineer for our Sacramento, CA office.   Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing accurate and timely cost/budget/forecast reporting
  • Verifying changes are properly reflected in the cost forecast and assessing impact on contingency, escalation and cash flow
  • Identifying trends and deviations and report to the Program Cost and Reporting Lead
  • Recommending solution and recover plans to address schedule and cost impacts
  • Monitor the status of the allocation and expenditure of project commitments
  • Assist with cost forecasts and funding that conforms to the Program Cost Unit Management Plan
  • Analyzing variance in cost and schedule and recommend corrective actions

  • Minimum of Three (3+) years experience in cost management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, or related technical field. Experience in lieu of degree is acceptable with Cost Control related Training
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various personnel, including dealing with people effectively and tactfully in difficult and stressful situations
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under time pressure
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiar with Transportation projects
  • Familiar with Primavera P6
  • Familiar with Cost Management Software such as Ecosys
