Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a Supervising Construction Inspector for our Lansing, Michigan office.   Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead field administration of construction projects related to inspection of  transportation projects with MDOT, Counties, and Cities
  • Oversee work performed by team of junior inspectors
  • Coordinate work of supporting services (e.g. surveying & testing)
  • Act as a representative of the client among stakeholders, communities, businesses in the field
  • Read, review, and interpret plans.
  • Perform general, non-legal surveying
  • Coordinate all field activities closely with the WSP project Manager
  • Solve construction and engineering problems during construction process
  • Daily interaction with contractor field superintendents
  • Attend and participate in progress meetings.
  • Closeout of projects

  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 9 years of construction experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
    Preferred Qualifications
  • ACI Level  I or Level II Concrete Certification
  • Current SESC MDEQ Certification
  • FieldBook / FieldManager Trained
  • Bituminous Paving Operations Training
  • Concrete Paving experience
  • Past experience on MDOT, County, and/or City projects
  • Surveying experience
  • Direct experience working for MDOT or another firm with MDOT exposure.
