The American College of Physicians (ACP) is looking for an experienced research associate for its Center for Evidence Reviews. ACP, a national organization of internists with headquarters in Philadelphia, is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United States with more than 159,000 members worldwide. The Research Associate will serve as staff and project manager for the Scientific Medical Policy Committee. Primary responsibilities will include: Identifies content and prepares agendas for Scientific Medical Policy Committee meetings and conference calls. Coordinates timelines, deliverables, logistics, and contracts for manuscripts in accordance with established committee procedures and methodology. Reviews, edits, and proofreads papers produced by the Clinical Policy department. Supports the work of the Clinical Guidelines Committee and other Clinical Policy projects as needed. Assists in implementing the Clinical Policy department disclosure and conflicts of interest policy across committees and projects. Assists in preparing memos and documents for submission for Board of Regents and Board of Governors review. Keeps track of deadlines for submission so that all relevant files are submitted in a timely manner. Creates and maintains reference databases. Qualified applicants must possess a Master’s degree in epidemiology, health services research, or a relevant field, plus 3-5 years experience in evidence-based medicine. Candidates must have demonstrated quantitative and qualitative research skills and knowledge of related software programs; and possess strong project management and excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates who are familiar with the principles of epidemiology, evidence reviews, statistical and analytical methods, and clinical practice guidelines are preferred.
