Job Description

The Human Resources department of the American College of Physicians (ACP) is seeking a full-time Recruiter/HR Coordinator.  ACP, a national organization of internists with headquarters in Philadelphia, is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United States with more than 159,000 members worldwide.  


The Recruiter/HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting Human Resources staff in the areas of recruitment, administrative support, onboarding, employee relations, and employment law compliance. A primary focus of this position is assisting with the recruitment process by placing ads, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, administering testing, and conducting background and reference checks.


Other responsibilities include:

  • Ensures new employees have proper employment related documents and prepares required records/files in accordance with government regulations and College policy.
  • Prepares and tracks all HR forms, e.g. address changes, change of status, and telecommunication forms.
  • Maintains and updates organizational charts.
  • Updates and maintains information in the HRIS database.  Creates special reports, choice lists, job codes, etc.
  • Posts HR-related items to intranet (New Arrivals, Job Postings, Employee Spotlight, etc.).
  • Coordinates logistics for special projects, including: New Hire Orientation; 90-day Introductory Evaluations; tuition reimbursement program; and Service Awards.


A bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus 2-3 years of HR experience including one year of recruitment experience are required. Qualified applicants must possess excellent PC skills, including: advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS database (preferably web-based); organizational skills to manage multiple priorities; and strong attention to detail. The ability to handle confidential information is essential.
