Job DescriptionThe Design System team unites product, design, and, engineering teams around a common visual and brand language with which to work more efficiently and consistently across platforms and applications. We provide comprehensive documentation, code, and UI toolkits that set the standard for styles, components, and accessibility best practices, which in turn, allow our teams across CVS and Aetna to focus more on evolving a cohesive user experience.The Senior Manager, Design Systems will drive a team that develops and manages design system components that sit as a foundation to our product design efforts. The ideal candidate will help establish process, gather design requirements, build and manage web components, and provide guidance for other product designers on the team. Additionally, it is a great plus if the candidate is able to demonstrate strong story telling skills, a command of best practices and in-depth experience with the creation and management of design systems. As a part of the day to day responsibilities, Sr Manager, Design Systems will be working closely with design partners to gather the requirements and convert these design specifications into Front End re-usable Components for Web and Mobile Web Applications. This role will be responsible for Managing, evangelizing and growing the consumption and integration of these components across the organization in Web and Mobile App Platforms.Required QualificationsAn ideal candidate should have:* Minimum six years (6) of experience in Front End Technologies (Web or Mobile App related front end development)* Minimum four (4) years of recent experience as a Technical manager leading teams in the development of Web and/or Mobile App Applications using Front End Technologies.* Strong Knowledge of Responsive and Adaptive Designs.* Knowledge of Web/re-usable component Concepts.* Solid understanding of accessibility and inclusive design.* Experience working in a flexible, adaptable, and empathetic way, understanding that each team and individual contributor will have unique work styles, and each project will vary in its specific process needs * A team-player; always bringing a smile and a limitless determination to succeed and grow * Experience with working cross-functionally, especially with product and engineering teams * A leader who is accountable for design quality and cohesion across all product teams, and who actively engages other designers to help maintain consistency.* An understanding of product design, design research, and content strategy * Exceptionally organized with a desire to streamline and organize complex systems.* An appreciation towards current industry product design systems * A clear, structured, and proactive communication skills, both written and verbal * Attentive to the details and capturing the big picture to achieve product goals* Create efficiencies via reusable tools and frameworks to foster consistency and reduce duplication * The visual know-how and desire to delight the user and deliver a world-class experience* An appetite for cross-platform collaboration* An ability to advocate for, and be a strong representative of design* Excellent communication and writing skills* Ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment* Experience working with customers and product managers to translate high level requirements and use cases into detailed product designs and UI components.* Collaborative and works with the larger product team to define and maintain UI/UX standards that will ensure uniformity across all the systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience leading, building, and/or maintaining a design system. Experience working with UI frameworks like Angular and React is a plus.Experience producing designs for large-scale, enterprise products in an agile environment.Skills in generative and evaluative research methods to uncover user insights.Experience working with InVision DSM and StoryBook.Solid understanding of accessibility and inclusive design.Knowledge or certification in SAFe.EducationHigh School diploma required.Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Design or related field of study preferred.Business OverviewIt's a new day in health care.
