Job DescriptionCVS Health, a Fortune 7 Pharmacy Innovation company, recently launched a new Kidney Care initiative, to provide services to patients with or at risk of developing Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and help improve outcomes for patients with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). To support the new business with establishing value based arrangements for CKD and ESRD populations for payers, we are recruiting an experienced data scientist with a background in healthcare risk management. In this important role you will collaborate with business partners, data scientists and actuaries to deliver a range of analytic solutions to help support the value based contracts focused on supporting this underserved population. You will focus on analytics in support of the suite of services for Kidney Care, an innovative program designed to improve health outcomes and quality of life for individuals with CKD, ranging from opportunity analyses and data exploration, design and development of insight generation tools and measurement of outcomes. You will produce insights and reports to help understand a population's risk and develop strategies to manage program performance against internal goals and benchmarks, as well as client financial and patient clinical and satisfaction outcomes, and to identify opportunities for program optimization, improvement, and innovation. The essential roles and responsibilities of the role are to: - Collaborate with key internal and external partners (clinical, product innovation, actuaries) to gather and analyze needs and requirements- Access data, construct and manipulate large datasets to support planned analyses; - Conduct analyses of the data, ranging from descriptive adhoc analyses to in-depth investigations of healthcare utilization trends and outcomes with several statistical modeling approaches, such as regression modeling, time-series analyses, and machine learning techniques including random forests and ensemble models; - Design and implement robust analytic and reporting solutions to support the identified needs; - Build dynamic data visualization tools with Tableau; - Construct and deliver summaries of your findings and recommendations in a variety of formats (reports, PPT, webex, in person); - Tailor the analytic solution to the specific client need and constraints of delivery timelines; - Provide thought leadership to business partners and clients through development of analytic solutions; present analytic findings in reports, tools, and other media to support most effective translation and application for our customers; - Manage complex projects related to a wide variety of financial, utilization, and clinical business needs.#AnalyticsEARequired Qualifications- 8 years+ years of previous work experience in healthcare- 5+ years' experience using advanced technical skills, with proficiency in SQL - Experience with relational databases - Experience with SAS, R and Python or other reporting tools - Proven competencies in collaboration, creative problem solving and agility - Possess a strong curiosity to continuously learn data science techniques and tools - You should be able to work in a climate of ambiguity - You should have strong organization skills - Demonstrate excellent relationship management, strong team building and the ability to work across business units within a complex organization - Excellent data visualization skills - Excellent project management skills and ability to deliver in the fast-paced evolving environment- Educational background may serve as a substitute for part or all of the length of relevant employment requirementPreferred Qualifications- Advanced degree- Knowledge and experience in healthcare risk and healthcare data- Experience with program evaluation and statistical analysis (i.e. sample size determination and statistical inference) - Experience with time series and forecasting methods - Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop and Spark - Experience working with data visualization platforms such as Tableau and MicroStrategyEducation- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or other related fieldBusiness OverviewIt's a new day in health care.
