Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Accountant II. This position can be located in Morristown, New Jersey or any WSP USA office.   Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and assesses status of project funding and budgets
  • Initiate the project and budget set-up in Oracle
  • Evaluates project’s financial performance and provides recommendations to Project Managers on project management operating strategies
  • Weekly monitoring and reconciliation of project costs
  • Communicate with our Billing Department on invoice requirements, including preparation, format, distribution, follows up on any delinquent accounts receivable and/or unbilled costs through resolution
  • Manages escalated delinquent accounts receivable and unbilled costs
  • Subconsultant financial management
  • Coordinates Sub payments release requests with our Accounts Payable Department
  • Manages the responses to auditors for Project Manager, meeting with auditors and satisfying auditor requests
  • Ensures contract, BMS and quality procedures of the operating company are met
  • Participate in monthly project review meetings and coordinates responses to auditors for Project Team review
  • Interaction with Clients, Corporate and Regional Management, Area Managers and Project Operations Managers
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience in related field)
  • 3+ year of relevant experience
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills and strong understanding of accounting and contracting principles
  • Ability to work and/or lead all levels of teams and strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and  related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies  
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Oracle
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with an engineering or construction firm
