Tri-Seal (A Tekni-Plex Company) in Blauvelt, NY is searching for Extrusion Operator(s) for its 1st shift (8:00 am to 4:30 pm), 2nd  shift ( 4:00 pm to 12:30 am) and 3rd shift (12:00 am – 8:30 am). This role is responsible for operating production equipment to manufacture foam plastic using established standards and practices. For the most qualified candidate, we will provide on the job training with our team of experienced operators. 

What will you do?

Monitors and records process controls and settings to determine material is being produced to specification.

• Performs inspections and tests to determine material is being produced to specification.
• Participates in safety and process improvement meetings
• Monitors levels of raw materials and calls for replenishment of raw materials within sufficient lead times so that raw materials are not depleted prior to job completion.
• Prepares production logs, line clearance documents, EPA reports, and product tags as necessary
• Operates blender as required and understands recipes and raw material condition.
• Operates scrap grinder as required and understands recycle system.
• Transports roll stock.
• Maintains tools and replacement parts needed for regular operator conducted maintenance on equipment.
• Promotes worker safety. Adhere to and enforce safe working procedures amongst crew members.
• Following and participating in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
• Ensures quality products and processes are maintained.
• Actively participates in the continuous improvement process (CIP).
• Responsible for regular and punctual attendance.

What skills do you bring to the role?

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Previous manufacturing experience required. Plastic extrusion experience a plus.
• Solid understanding of machine function and process capability.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Must have general understanding of basic math concepts.  
• Ability to understand safety rules and regulations, work orders, operating procedures and training materials. 
• Daily reports to be completed timely.
