Are you an analytical problem solver with extensive experience in safety or risk management? Our Safety Manager position will be responsible for the development, support, execution and management of all Sprague safety management systems, programs, policies and procedures. You’ll achieve success in this position by demonstrating your ability to develop excellent working relationships with people of all backgrounds and levels of responsibility. This position is based in our headquarters in Portsmouth, NH and will involve field work and travel primarily within the North East. Work based on your own flexible schedule in your company provided vehicle at our marine industrial terminals that handle chemical, petroleum, and bulk materials. We’ll need you to lead incident investigation teams and anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices during site visits.

Qualified candidates for this role will have the following:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in safety, risk management, industrial hygiene, engineering or related field
Ten to fifteen years’ experience in safety or risk management
Experience in OSHA, DOT, EPA and State regulatory requirements
Demonstrated understanding of and compliance experience with OSHA regulations 1910, 1916, 1917 and 1926
Professional HSE certifications are desirable (CSP, CHMM, REM, etc.)
Experience with Canadian regulations, USCG, marine oil terminal and bulk/break-bulk cargo operations strongly desirable
