This role is responsible for oversight of the Valley Health Safety and Security program at designated “Off-Site” locations. Duties include but are not limited to, routine Safety and Security site visits and tours in order to assess and validate compliance with Environmental Safety practices, Construction Safety Practices, Disaster Preparedness practices, as well as Security practices (both physical and electronic). The Safety & Security Program Manager acts as an Inspector/Surveyor/Investigator, Expert Consultant, and Educator/Trainer at all assigned Off-Site locations in order to promote and support the personal safety of employees, patients and visitors and vendors. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position, inclusive of the following: Responsible for conducting routine, prioritized site visits to Valley Health Off-site locations in order to: Assess Program Compliance: Environmental Safety Hazardous Materials and Waste Safety Life & Fire Safety Construction & Renovation Safety Disaster Readiness Safety Conduct Readiness Drills: Fire & Evacuation Drills Active Shooter Drills Annual Disaster Drills Perform Investigations: Thefts Threats Vandalism Property Damage Conduct Risk Assessments Perform Education and Training Inspect Physical and Electronic Safety and Security Related Equipment: Access Control Attributes (Alarms, Cameras, Badge Readers) Internal Duress Alarms and External Call Boxes Fire Extinguishers Eye Wash Stations Responsible for routine upkeep and organization of the Safety & Security program documentation binders for all locations. Coordinates with location-affiliated Hospital Safety Program Managers and Security Operations Managers as appropriate to ensure that all assigned off-site locations maintain a state of compliance readiness with regard to TJC, CMS, OSHA, DEQ, DEP, EPA and other State and Federal requirements as required. Education Associate's degree or equivalent healthcare safety & security related experience required. Experience Previous management experience in healthcare safety and security operations required.
