Allied Universal is currently seeking a Tax Specialist to provide critical support in the preparation of Income Taxes, Indirect Taxes, Personal Property Taxes, and other miscellaneous tax filings. This individual will assists with corporate and partnership tax compliance, general ledger support, special tax related projects, and tax audits. Our tax team is an integral, hands on, detail oriented group that supports a large acquisitive growing organization. The Tax Specialist will gain exposure to both domestic and international tax as Allied Universal operates with over 150 Branch offices throughout North America and in five countries. Primary Responsibilities Maintain required level of technical knowledge. Provide general ledger system support regarding functional issues of financial and management reporting. Prepare estimated federal and state income tax payments. Research and prepare work papers for various book to tax differences. Perform year-end accrual review and assist in the preparation of the tax provision. Prepare various federal and state income tax returns. Prepare various personal property tax returns. Prepare/Review other various tax filings: Annual reports, Intangible Tax, Sales and Use Tax. Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work. Create tax data collection systems, and maintain the corporate tax database. Research projects. Assist in federal and state audits. Maintain our tax preparation system. Keep abreast of current developments in the tax area. Provide an information source in the tax area within the company. Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or one to three years’ related experience and/or training, including internships; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Should be preparing for or already passed the CPA examination and meets educational requirements for CPA licensure. Solid understanding of accounting, audit, and basic tax issues. Combination of public accounting and industry experience is preferable. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and Explorer Internet software; One Source or similar tax software; Alteryx and Domo knowledge preferred. *CB-Corp #ZR 358894
