Job Description

We have been a leader in Integrated design and delivery of civil infrastructure for more than 75 years and are looking for an experienced Highway Design Project Manager to add to our team in Georgia. We have a great backlog of work, in both conventional and design/build and are looking for a strong leader, with the ability to lead projects and mentor a team of engineers and designers. We are seeking someone demonstrates technical excellence in road/highway design and is a thought leader delivering complex projects, without sacrificing schedule and budget! In this role, you will be responsible for the scope development, scope management and commercial performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives. The Project Manager plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contractterms, and corporate policies. This position will coordinate projects through all phases of project inception, programming, design, and closeout.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution.
  • Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.Markets and secures additional work with our clients.
  • Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project. May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
  • Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan Documents.
  • Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
  • Plans, directs, supervises and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
  • Advises the client and company management of key changes. Works with the team to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through the application of Quality Assurance processes.
  • Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule.


  • REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical/business field,
  • PE License is required, as you will be providing the stamp and seal of approval on documents
  • GDOT experience preferred; otherwise, must have significant DOT experience from other states
  • 12+ years of related road/highway design and leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and must meet Parsons' project management certification requirements.
  • Requires the ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy working technically hands-on while leading the Engineers on Parson's projects.
