Cyber Security Systems Engineers design, develop, and implement leading-edge analytical and technical methodologies, tools, and policies/standards to ensure a cyber-secure environment for customer organizations. Such security measures include intrusion detection and prevention, software and system security protection through application of secure design protocols and reverse engineering, and data assurance. In this role you will perform network modeling, analysis, planning and may be responsible for researching and recommending network and data communications technologies, as well as preparing cost estimates and network designs specifications.

Provides cyber security engineering and IA support to C5ISR systems development and sustainment. Performs, cyber security audits, applies the Risk Management Framework (RMF), use eMASS, and supports system integration with IA design, architecture, development, testing and integration engineering support for information system security engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems with concentration in Information Security or Cyber Security
  • 10+ years experience as an Information Security Engineer working at the IASAE Level I
  • Must meet 8570 training requirements: relevant certifications such as CISSP, SEC+, etc.
  • Proven experience and understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process ICD503, JSIG and other government security specifications and guidelines to perform cyber security functions to accredit systems.
  • Experience performing analysis and the application of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), and Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) Assessments.
  • Experience using the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) database and updating information within the eMASS system.
  • Experience using vulnerability and security scanning tools such as Retina, SCAP and Nessus and use manual techniques to verify system security settings and configurations
  • Proven experience in interpreting and analysing reports from scan and assessments and develop plan to mitigate risks
  • Review and analyse vulnerabilities that have been identified as being required for functionality and document system security findings and mitigations
  • Produce information assurance related reports and C&A documentation
  • Excellent communications, problem-solving and coordination skills
  • This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense TS/SCI level security clearance, which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
