Job Description

Merakey is currently seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse to join our team in Hammond, LA.



This is a professional position which involves providing direct nursing care to persons with developmental and physical disabilities and maintain their medical records to comply with current nursing practice and state regulation. This position reports to the Health Services Supervisor and/or Assistant Health Services Supervisor.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

  • Will provide direct nursing care to persons with developmental and physical disabilities.
  • Will maintain medical records to comply with current nursing practice and state regulation.
  • Will do routine health assessments.
  • Ensure annual physicals are updated before examination by PCP.
  • Maintain health records/charts. Ensure completion of 90-day physician reviews.
  • Review incoming labs and consults.
  • Ensure needed orders are obtained and faxed to pharmacy.
  • Will complete reports, including any incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Parental notifications as indicated.
  • Will work with LPN to ensure nursing care and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position requires a Registered Nurse.

  • A minimum of one (1) year current nursing experience is preferred.
  • A current Louisiana Nursing License
  • Behavioral Health experience preferred
  • A genuine interest in working with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
  • In addition, a current and valid Louisiana driver's license and reliable transportation may be required depending on the work location.
