Job Description


Description: Responsible for driving the generation of sales leads and health plan awareness by contributing to, executing and monitoring strategic plans which include community outreach, relationship building, sales seminars, outreach activities, and public relations programs.


Fundamental Components:
  • Achieve business segment growth and retention targets

  • Follows direction from leadership on key agencies and community-based organizations for engagement to support sales pipeline and promote health plan presence.

  • Facilitates and attends outreach activities, special events, and presentations in a specific region as directed by the strategy manager and relationship manager to generate sales leads in support of the health plan's sales and membership growth goals and increase awareness of the health plan's presence for Federal eligibles.

  • Obtains sales leads (consent to contact cards, email addresses, etc.) at all events and ensures they are appropriately documented in sales management system.

  • Educate potential members on benefit of our plans through sales appointments scheduled through our website

  • Clearly articulate value proposition for Aetna's plans and benefits

  • Develops and maintains a favorable relationship with community organizations as identified by the strategy manager and relationship manager where there is high percentage of Federal retirees or military personnel. Interacts with the assigned groups and individuals to foster corporate visibility and to create a positive image of the company.

  • Collaborates with leadership to coordinate event logistics including reserving space, catering, communication, distributing materials, facilities support, and promoting events

  • Delivers individual or group presentations to potential members.

  • Recruit volunteers/contractors locally

  • Address service issues in a timely manner

  • Maintains compliance with the FEHBP guidelines and regulations.

Background Experience:
  • Three years of experience in event planning and community development building key contacts
  • Direct to consumer sales experience
  • Track record of success in capturing leads
  • Three years of experience with Medicare/Medicare Advantage.
  • Strong organization skills and member focused approach
