About the Role
The APAC Cash Desk team are responsible for providing a quality service to both internal and external customers across the APAC region which is delivered in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy. The team will handle payments in varying currencies, which may be manual, including SWIFT payments or via automated systems.

This role will be primarily responsible for supporting the APAC Cash Desk Manager with the day to day running of the team, including ensuring all monetary transactions, forecasting and cash flow management are completed accurately and on time. To lead and be accountable for the development and implementation of all projects that impact the Cash Desk team.

Market Skills and Certifications

Primary Responsibilities
  • Escalation point for any issues that arise in relation to payment processing, forecasting and cash flow management
  • Take ownership to resolve escalated issues, working collaboratively with other team members and functions to provide effective solutions
  • Provide any required training and support to junior team members
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and accurately reflect the processes for the APAC Cash Desk Team
  • To proactively identify process improvement and through Simply Ops methodology implement changes that improve efficiency within the team
  • Accountable for ensuring accurate and timely forecasting for all cash movement within the regionTake ownership for the development, implementation and monitoring of APAC Cash Desk projects, including but not limited to enhancing automation of payments, introduction of new currencies. This will require regular reporting to key stakeholders and the leadership teams
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, as required, to ensure the delivery of APAC Cash Desk projects & initiatives
  • Ensure all initiatives and projects that are implemented are fully documented, accurate with supporting process maps, policy and procedure documents and any required training manuals
  • To proactively investigate and recommend process improvements, defining business impact and opportunity, including a comprehensive implementation plan
  • To act as the APAC Cash Desk Manager delegate, including leading and guiding the team in their absence and attending and presenting at leadership meetings as required

Qualifications Required
  • At least 5 years' experience gained in a banking environment or equivalent, with operational cash handling, accounts payable/receivable execution and funds management
  • Knowledge of accounting & financial reporting desirable
  • Must have a sound knowledge of international banking operations and systems
  • Extensive knowledge of the financial services industry
  • Proven track record of leading or being a significant contributor to complex banking projects and ability to manage projects to an agreed budget
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, within tight timelines, with minimal supervision
  • Strong organisational and delivery skills with a natural bias for speed and execution
  • High degree of understanding Commercial Distribution Finance operating system, AIMS
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, other languages desirable
  • Ability to initiate and implement meaningful change
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Experience of working in a pan-Asia or global company
