Within Wells Fargo Clearing Services Compliance, the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Team administers the Firm's AML program, which is designed to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control requirements, and the rules and regulations enacted by the SEC and self-regulatory organizations to enable the Firm to detect and prevent potential money laundering and terrorist financing. This AML Compliance Sr Assoc will support implementation and execution of the WFCS AML Quality Assurance program. Activities include review of WFCS AML processes and identifying potential gaps that need to be communicated to AML senior management. The Senior Associate must maintain current knowledge of the external regulatory environment and Wells Fargo corporate policies in order to assess potential impacts to the processes subject to review. The AML QA Senior Associate's responsibilities will include working with the team of AML Compliance professionals responsible for:
Interpreting applicable BSA/AML/OFAC related laws, regulations and corporate policy requirements in order to assess their applicability to WFCS's AML program
Reviewing WFCS AML policy and procedures in adherence with BSA/AML/OFAC related laws, regulations and corporate policy requirements
Evaluating documentation of processes supporting WFCS AML program requirements
Continually assessing WFCS's AML Program to determine effectiveness and making suggestions for continuous improvement in order to maximize AML Program resources
Maintaining current knowledge of the external regulatory environment and continuously assessing and reporting real and potential impacts and emerging risks to AML and Business Management
5+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 5+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in risk management
Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
FINRA registration including one or more of the following: FINRA Series 7, FINRA Series 24, FINRA Series 14, or FINRA recognized equivalents
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
Other Desired Qualifications
Audit or Quality Assurance experience in either the financial services industry generally or AML programs specifically
BSA/AML/OFAC Regulatory Compliance experience in financial institutions, including broker/dealers
Ability to effectively interact with management and staff at all levels of the organization
Strong analytical and critical thinking
Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and on multiple initiatives concurrently is required
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
Salary Information The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
