This Operating Systems Engineer 5 position is part of Wells Fargo's Enterprise Information Technology organization. Specifically, the role is within the OS Engneering team in the Core Engineering division. The Operating Systems Engineer 5 will be responsible for taking requirements from Software Product Owners and creating scripts and packages that will automate software installation, configuration and upgrades for enterprise distribution. Individual must be able to create new scripts and packages that meet team standards and are compliant from an audit perspective. This individual must be able to read and understand highly complex technical requirements and transform those requirements into scripts and packages that are efficient, consistent and reliable. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of various Windows server platforms and superior scripting, packaging and automation skills. This individual will be responsible for thorough and extensive testing of scripts and packages, and will conduct peer reviews of those created by teammates. Candidate must be skilled at writing and maintaining technical documentation. Candidate will be expected to provide guidance to less experienced staff and resolve highly complex technical problems. Candidate must be comfortable working with senior leaders and capable of explaining complex problems in plain business language.
7+ years of operating systems analysis experience, operating systems engineering experience, or a combination of both
7 + years of experience with Windows server operating systems
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
3+ years of Agile experience
3+ years of Puppet experience
3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies
3+ years of virtualization technologies experience
3+ years of experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Perl, or KornShell (KSH)
Knowledge and understanding of Git or GitHub
Other Desired Qualifications
Advanced Powershell skills strongly desired
5+ years of experience with Windows server operating systems including building, supporting and advanced troubleshooting
3+ years of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager experience
3+ years of DevOps experience
3+ years of experience with server infrastructure technology including HP and Dell Server Hardware
