Wells Fargo's growing Technology, Media and Telecom Group (TMT) within CIB covers both public and private Technology, Media and Telecommunications companies largely based in the United States. As a Credit Associate, you will be part of a dynamic and growing group and have experience working with senior portfolio managers within the TMT group. This position will provide broad experience including underwriting transactions and monitoring a portfolio of clients ranging from middle-market companies to large corporations. These companies vary significantly in credit quality and financial structure complexity. Responsibilities include:
Serves as an integral member of a portfolio management team to underwrite, structure and execute loan commitments and other credit exposure by performing financial analysis and risk assessment for medium and large corporations
Independently researches, examines and interprets client performance and industry trends in order to prepare a comprehensive credit report opinion
Assists and directs the production of financial models and credit analysis involving complex and diverse information to support lending recommendations
Reviews and interprets credit policies and procedures and incorporates requirements into credit analysis, observations and lending recommendations
Monitors and maintains an existing loan portfolio, which includes ongoing analysis and assessment of financial information to determine borrower performance, risk rating, and compliance
Collaborates with Debt Capital Markets and Investment Banking teams during the underwriting, structuring, and execution of credit transactions
Supports the development of junior team members on the TMT Portfolio Management team
May represent the bank in developing and maintaining relationships with clients in conjunction with a senior portfolio manager

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: underwriting, credit, relationship management, portfolio management, equity or venture capital investing experience; or successful completion of Wholesale Credit Management Training Program
Strong accounting skills and ability to analyze financial statements
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
High level of initiative and accountability
Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, finance, or accounting
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
Experience working with media and telecom in the following industries: technology, media and telecom
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Other Desired Qualifications
Experience with Capital IQ, Bloomberg and similar industry tools
Credit analysis, capital markets or relationship management experience
Familiarity with syndicated loan agreements, including completion of waivers and amendments
Experience working with technology, media and telecom companies
