OBXtek has an opening is for an Entry Level Engineer who will provide general Program Element Manager (PEM) support in the program Staffing and Technical Acquisition Services Support (STAQSS) prime contract within the office of Science, Technology and Engineering.

This is a dream job for a young engineering professional just starting on a budding career. OBXtek will help establish a DoD clearance for the right candidate.

You will:

* Learn how the Air Force designs and fields weapon systems.

* Experience real projects and programs in the field as they are being developed, trained and deployed around the world.

* Help solve engineering problems.

* Learn the financial basics for what it takes to fund and sustain various weapon systems used in the Air Force.

* Be on the front line with other Air Force engineers.

* Develop your own niche and be the "go-to" engineer.

This person will work on the Systems Security Engineering activities that include prototyping all types of equipment/weapons/aircraft technology development (e.g. Adaptive Engine Technology Development). The job is in the Pentagon helping highly experienced engineers and potential mentors.

Some general tasks for position include:
  • Studying, analyzing, and providing recommendations on requirements, acquisition strategies, program documentation, program phase transition plans, supplemental information, Honest Broker assessments, and program execution.
  • Researching and analyzing program trends, identifying issues, and recommending solutions.
  • Performing and assessing technical studies on individual weapon systems, architecture, and integration capability areas.
  • Identifying operational deficiencies and other key issues, conducting research to develop alternatives and providing recommendations and support for resolution.
  • Reviewing and assessing technical, operational and management concepts, documents, and specifications to provide technical analysis for the preparation of programmatic documentation and responses to stakeholders.
  • Assessing policy requirements and developing policy and procedures governing Air Force acquisition engineering and technical services.
  • Assessing operating system end of life support analysis and recommending strategies to address impact on weapons.

* Bachelors degree in any type of Engineering field

Highly Desired Experience:
  • Electrical, Aeronautical or Systems Engineering degree. Will consider other engineering disciplines.
  • MS Office proficiency, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word
