Job Description

Vighter LLC is in need of healthcare providers for Public Health Emergency Support in response to 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

START DATE : < 2 weeks anticipated start date

WORK DURATION: Anywhere from 2-8 weeks, potential to extend based on the requests of the client .

Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (COVID-19)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides medical services at the scope and level of a Certified Nurse Anesthetist to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
  • Prepare and review case histories and obtain data through interviews of patients.
  • Provide routine and emergent anesthesia care for neonatal through geriatric patients with American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classifications I - VI.
  • Provide regional and/or general anesthesia care for the following sub-specialties: general surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, cardio-thoracic, vascular, adult dentistry, pediatric dentistry, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, urology, ophthalmology, oral surgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery, podiatry, and dermatology.
  • Administer appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks in the treatment of acute and chronic pain.
  • Provide resuscitative care during a cardiopulmonary arrest, and sedation or general anesthetic care at remote locations.
  • Personally provide this care or he/she shall supervise the simultaneous delivery of anesthesia care by the student registered nurse anesthetist.
  • Oversee the activities of the recovery room and administer appropriate drug and respiratory therapy in the recovery room setting.
  • Implement the proper use of mechanical ventilators in the recovery room, and as necessary, in the intensive care units.
  • Interpret tests results and evaluate findings.
  • Systematically assesses the urgent or emergent health needs of patients, analyzes data, and formulates a plan of care, with other members of the medical team, which is realistic in relation to the employee's capabilities and job requirements.
  • Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.
  • Identifies and records the signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions.
  • Thoroughly exercises skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making daily.
  • Makes independent judgments and prioritizes workload.
  • Demonstrates proven success in stressful environments.
  • Pursues professional development activities and continuing education to ensure currency with present practices and trends in healthcare and specifically in the practice of emergency medical treatment.
  • Monitors reconciliation of financial transactions and ensures contract charges are applied uniformly.
  • Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduated from an accredited program approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA)
  • Active and unrestricted Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) State License and the ability to be favorably credentialed.
  • 2 years of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
  • BLS certification.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Location of services may at times be in remote, austere or challenging environments.
  • Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high paced environment without physical limitations.
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current ACLS, PALS certification.
  • 5 years of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting as required for patient care and transport
