Critical Infrastructure (CI) Engineer will own the planning, installation, and maintenance of all TPX National Lab locations in regard to power, space and cooling. Will work in direct collaboration with TES CI and DCRE Engineering teams to assess facility impacts and ensure continuous alignment with the latest industry standards.
Responsible for contributing in all areas of expertise in collaboration with various multi-functional project teams. Exercises a proven knowledge of CI engineering skills and methodology. Applies long-term objectives and plans related to the company's technical vision to drive daily activity.
Proactively own the CI planning, installation, and maintenance of all TPX|TES National Lab locations to ensure availability and compliance.Collaborate with TES CI and DCRE teams to uniformly assess facility impacts and ensure continuous alignment with the latest industry standards.Serve as CI SME, reducing time to market by directly assisting product owners and NGAN lab teams in lab planning and identification of power, space, and cooling requirements.Implement, review, analyze, and action on real time monitoring metrics to drive capacity modeling and reliability of the network.Understand, communicate, and implement facility compliance standards with employees and contractors.Detail all facility and design changes into digital tracking systems using tools like Visio, Excel, SharePoint, Power Point, and input data to proprietary databasesCollaborate with product owners to define site by site long range planning to address capacity and availability targets with consistent alignment to standardsWork with TES CI teams to develop and grow meaningful reporting for engineers and managementPrimary contributor or SME lead for TES Lab Ops Standards Review process.Prepare various types of project plan documentation including development of standardized SMOPs, BOMs, SOW, etc. to expedite and streamline implementation.Directly drive initiatives pertaining to the integration and adoption of Comcast DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) systems.Other duties as assigned. Firm understanding of critical infrastructure components e.g., generators, HVAC systems,48 Volt DC power systems & electrical single line drawings.2 years of experience in datacenter / headend deployments & engineering.2 years of experience in working in a facility or facilities and handling CI capacity.2 years of experience working with real time monitoring data and tool sets in the Critical Infrastructure spaceKnowledge of all aspects of power generation and (AC & DC) power distribution including facility and cabinet based PDU's, ATS's, and inverter systems.Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work with vendors, internal customers and leadership.Basic Understanding of the IP protocol suite (e.g. ARP, IP, TCP, DNS, SNMP)Excellent written and oral communication skillsComputer literacy including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications -- Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project.Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work ExperienceSome travel required
Understanding of the Comcast Production Headend or Data Center network & deployment designs. Technical skills relative to HSD and Voice network engineering, planning and management including experience with IP routers, switches and CMTS equipmentKnowledge & experience DCIM tools, and various building management protocols (Modbus, SNMP, etc) & CI device integration.2 years of experience building or augmenting critical facilities to stay ahead of growth
