Are you passionate about digital media, entertainment, and cloud services? Do you enjoy big challenges and working within a highly motivated team environment?
As an Infrastructure Platform Analyst, your primary focus is to understand and model storage capacity trends and utilization for one of the largest deployments of object storage in the industry. Your work will help to ensure the continued operation of the storage platform that powers Comcast's Cloud DVR product offering as Comcast ramps up customer adoption and expands features such as 4k video and Xfinity Flex. Responsibilities include analysis of infrastructure capacity trends, inventory tracking, supervision of infrastructure deployments related to storage and compute solutions, and ensuring standards are followed. In this role, you will also be the resident subject matter expert for sizing storage infrastructure components.
Who does the Infrastructure Platform Analyst work with? As a member of the cloud DVR Storage Infrastructure team you'll be working in a fast-paced environment with world-class engineers who are innovating in IP Video and infrastructure for cloud storage. You will be included as an integral part of the overall cloud DVR engineering team and we will rely on you to work closely with all facets of the organization. On a daily basis you will work with development teams, infrastructure engineering, service delivery, architecture, and business operations teams. We are a team that thrives on big challenges, results, reliability, and agility.
What are some interesting problems you'll be working on? We will rely on you to incorporate information from throughout the company into a single, cohesive model that can be used to project storage utilization and performance into the future. You will work with engineering to understand how application changes drive storage utilization, and with product management to understand future feature development work to incorporate into the model. You will provide recommendations to improve deployment velocity of systems components. You will support the storage and infrastructure engineering teams to provide data around the operational capabilities of the system as well provide analysis on hardware refresh cycles.
Where can you make an impact? Your work will help the storage team succeed at implementing a rigorous, cadenced approach to capacity modeling and deployments. Success in this role will enable Comcast to deliver more powerful features to customers, faster, and at a lower cost.
