Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a Junior Civil/Highway Engineer for our Briarcliff Manor, New York office.   Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering tasks related to site civil, linear roadway reconstruction, and pedestrian improvements projects for municipalities and small public agencies
  • Prepare reports and coordinate support activities, including plan production and drafting report text or comment responses
  • Attend client meetings, assist in preparation for presentations to clients, and support business development efforts
  • Assist in project management activities, including input on budgets, scheduling, and coordination of tasks
  • Supervise, assign, and coordinate specific assignments with entry-level staff

  • B.S. or higher degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Must be licensed as a New York State Professional Engineer or accepted to sit for NYSPE exam; New Jersey and/or Connecticut license a plus
  • At least 3-5 years experience
  • Familiarity with NYSDOT and AASHTO Design Specifications
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in the following software: MicroStation and/or InRoads, AutoCAD and/or Civil3D (or willingness to attend training for either)
  • Design experience in the New York Hudson Valley Region with DOT Local Projects Unit
  • Knowledge of ADA compliance related to highway / infrastructure projects
