FactSet's Content & Technology Solutions (CTS) group is looking for a Software Engineer to join a growing team responsible for building and maintaining our next-generation client-facing data APIs. Using a variety of technologies to deliver performant solutions, this team will play a significant role in FactSet's Digital Transformation by empowering our sophisticated user base that includes quantitative analysts, data scientists, and application developers.

The ideal candidate shares our passion for APIs, has experience with distributed applications, and possesses excellent communication and collaboration skills. Joining our team means becoming a key contributor to our ongoing effort to build out our OpenAPI-based product suite.

Key responsibilities for the position include developing and maintaining scalable HTTP services, collaborating with fellow team members and other stakeholders to develop specifications and features, and actively participating in our agile team as we work together to transform FactSet into a world-class API provider!

Direct Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain HTTP-based APIs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to aid in specifications and effort prioritization
  • Active participation in our Agile/Scrum team

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 yrs experience in at least one multi-paradigm programming language (Java, C++, Python, etc.)
  • Some experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases or related technologies
  • Exceptional communication skills

Highly Desired:

  • Experience building and maintaining distributed systems
  • Knowledge of OpenAPI / Swagger
  • Java / Spring Boot Framework knowledge a plus
