Job Description

REPORTS OFFICER INSTRUCTOR     Location: Washington, DC Duration: 15 Days Dates: TBD Instructor Qualifications:  

  • Ten (10) years of intelligence experience that can be met through combined years of intelligence experience at the Federal, State, or Local level is required.
  • Five (05) years of direct operational experience in the subject taught is required. (For example, instructors designated to teach analytic methods must have five years of experience applying analytic methods in a Federal or State Intelligence Analyst position.)
  • Two (2) years of experience operating in the Department of Homeland Security Intelligence Enterprise or the Homeland Security Enterprise.
  • A four-year degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required. (Degrees in law enforcement, intelligence studies, and education are desirable); Federal or State experience exceeding 15 years in the subject that the instructor will teach and a 2-year associate’s degree may be substituted for a 4-year degree with approval from the government.
  • Must have an active TOP SECRET//SCI clearance

  Job Description:   This is an episodic contract position providing instructional support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The instructor provides students with the knowledge and skills required to successfully compose Intelligence Information Reports (IIRs). Topics include: operate within the National Intelligence Priorities Framework; operate within the DHS Authorities; IAW DHS Directive Number 264-01; intelligence and operational information; intelligence collection requirements; sources of reportable information; source interviews to develop intelligence information; Intelligence Oversight (IO) policies; report intelligence while protecting Civil Rights and Civil Liberties; report intelligence while preserving Privacy Act protections; and use the appropriate IIR reporting system. This is a basic IIR writing course to teach students how to write IIRs to the current Standard HUMINT Intelligence Report (SHIR) standard.   Benefits:   Pay commensurate with level of experience plus per diem and travel to/from-in/around the training location.
