Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is seeking a motivated Construction Office Engineer to join our Construction Services Group on projects located in the Southern California Inland Empire area assigned to our San Bernardino, California office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret project plans and specifications
  • Set up and maintaining project files.
  • Write construction change orders.
  • Process required documents and progress payments.
  • Monitore and enforce labor compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Two (2) years of education equivalent to completion of a curriculum beyond the 12th grade in either (1) engineering which includes courses in trigonometry and algebra or higher, drafting, computer science, and physics, chemistry, or a comparable physical science; or (2) surveying which includes courses in trigonometry and algebra or higher, drafting, surveying, and computer science.
  • 4 years of highway construction office engineering experience in highway/bridge/public works industry OR Civil Engineering Degree accredited by ABET and 2 years of experience in the highway/bridge /public works industry.
  • Knowledge of Prevailing Wage Laws and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Subcontracting laws and policies.
  • Experience with Computers, computer applications, and computer software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Caltrans procedures is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience with Design Build Delivery Method
  • Knowledge and experience with Construction Oversight
