Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Engineer for our Lilse office.   Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in design reviews from concept to advertisement and oversee design development
  • Lead innovative special assignments and assist in managing 3D/BIM program
  • Prepare and review construction specifications
  • Assist in managing annual updates of standards and manuals
  • Effectively and clearly communicate to wide range of professionals, inside and outside the organization
  • Work closely with other team members on multi-disciplinary transportation infrastructure projects

  • Ability to quickly adapt to challenges and problem solve solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain in 6 months.
  • 7+ years of design, construction, engineering, architecture, and/or project management experience
  • Ability to rapidly absorb and interpret technical information
  • Fluency with modern design and development principles
  • Ability to manage assignments independently
  • Ability to read and understand civil/roadway construction plans
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microstation, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies 
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
  Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Illinois Tollway design and construction standards and criteria
  • Knowledge of the Illinois Department of Transportation Bureau of Design and Environment Manual and AASHTO design criteria
  • Knowledge of construction field inspection and applicable specifications
  • Illinois Tollway or IDOT experience
