Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector for our Lincoln, Nebraska Office.   Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Communicate effectively and on a regular basis with WSP supervisor, Owner and Owner's operational and field staff, keeping them apprised of field progress and conditions
  • Complete daily inspector field reports (likely in CMS), and documentation of activities in reports or on required form on a timely basis.  Perform complete and accurately calculations of contractor work to support these reports
  • Review contractor submittals, and verify conformance with the contract documents (plans and specifications)
  • Review contractor progress against their submitted schedule
  • Monitor contractor work that includes, but may not be limited to, excavation,  placement of reinforcing steel, installation of structural steel, placement of concrete, driving pile, placement of backfill, placement of traffic control; construction of erosion control measures

  • Minimum of 3+ years experience with construction management, inspection and administration on transportation infrastructure (roads, bridges, and ancillary facilities)
  • High School Graduate
  • Valid Nebraska drivers license
  • Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Specific experience on projects in Nebraska for NE Department of Transportation and Local Public Agencies
  • Required NDOT Certs shown below or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • NDOT, Concrete Field Inspector – Level I
  • NDOT, Certified Earthwork Technician I
  • NDOT, Certified Asphalt Field Technician – Level I & II
  • NDOT, Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Inspector
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade 1
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  Preferred Qualifications
  • KDOT or MoDOT Certifications would be a plus.
