Job Description Summary/Work Environment/Physical Demands/Daily Activities: 

JSL Technologies is a fast-growing company with our headquarters office located in Oxnard, CA. We are a mid-size defense contractor and have a fast-paced and exciting work environment. We are looking for a Ship’s Self Defense System (SSDS) Test Engineer with experience in Tactical Data Links (TADIL) (Multi-Link, Link-16, Link-11, etc.), Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC)/Distributed Data System (DDS), Common Shipboard Link Management System (CDLMS), Command and Control Processor (C2P) and Shipboard Gridlock System/Auto Correlation (SGS/AC) to support our existing Integrated Ship Defense (ISD) contract in Wallops Island, VA (Eastern Shore). 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Functions:  

The SSDS Test Engineer will, with a wide range of knowledge, define and develop rigorous test standards for the test and evaluation of United States Navy (USN) shipboard, land-based and enterprise Integrated Combat System (ICS) products, software and equipment in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
- Meticulously review, test, validate and verify element level System Requirements Specification (SRS), System Subsystem Specification (SSS) and evaluate test results, test trends and implement corrective action as needed.
- Review, create, develop, maintain, and execute test procedures for the conduct of Land Based Engineering Test (LBET), Combat System Integration Test (CSIT), Shipboard Developmental Test (SBDT), and Enterprise Test events.
- Test and evaluate new software releases during product development.
- Provide technical expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments.
- Establish and maintain test processes and requirements documents.
- Report and document test results and enter problems and issues into the Trouble Observation Report (TOR) database.
- Configure necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing.
- Collaborate with product management and technical writers to ensure system and user manuals are in synch with the software to ensure that quality is "built in" from the ground up.
- Interface with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve problems that cause test failures.
- Assist junior engineers in the development of test procedures and actual test conduct.
- Generate reports and review documents generated by junior engineers.
- Review and study information from suppliers regarding materials and components to be utilized.
- May work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers. 

Job Requirements (Education/Experience/Skills/Certifications/Licenses): 

- Candidate should have US Navy Combat Systems and Interoperability experience (AEGIS, SSDS, ACDS, TADILs, CEC, Air Control, etc.).
- Secret Security Clearance: MUST be current.
- The position is located in Wallops Island, VA.
- Some travel may be required. 

Preferences (Education/Experience/Skills/Certifications/Licenses): 

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications, or 5-7 years of related experience.
