WSP USA has an immediate opening for a Wichita Office Leader (Senior Supervising Engineer) in the Wichita area to provide business development and business operations leadership. The right candidate has exceptional client relationship and staff leadership skills, and demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in managing and directing planning and engineering projects. This self-starter will work in concert with discipline leaders in the Wichita office, other WSP USA offices, regions, and markets to achieve the firm’s overall financial and market success.
Managing and/or directing project operations
Using existing client relationships to develop strategies that position the firm for major infrastructure opportunities
Establishing long-range growth plans and objectives
Assuring that professional services are commensurate with quality standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives
Providing business operations leadership to the practice
Leading internal and external multidiscipline teams
Leading and participating in key project pursuit and teaming strategies
A minimum of 15 years of experience required, in management, administration and/or financial control on multimillion-dollar transportation planning, design, construction and program management projects, including program management
Experience working in a leadership role
Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement
Must be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of and relationships with local government and private sector entities in the transportation/civil engineering market
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental, Planning, or a closely related field is required
Master’s Degree in Engineering, Planning, Business or closely related field preferred
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
