What is the position where you can add value?

We are hiring for a 1st shift Scheduler/BS Planner for our Tri-Seal Division within Tekni-Plex. In this role, the Planner will be responsible for scheduling production orders in detail to support Tri Seal Winston-Salem external as well as internal customers. Translate customer requirements into production orders.  Review inventories of all liner cell WIP and work closely with the CSR’s in getting the proper orders entered and scheduled to meet shipments.  Evaluate customer requested delivery dates against available capacity and work in process to provide customers with an achievable promise dates that fulfill customer’s needs. Create a well-organized slitter schedule and maintain accuracy daily based on schedule adherence. Establish WIP min-max program and actively maintain and review on timely manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate customer requirements (PO's; MRP; forecast; etc.) from sales orders into production schedules and process changes to comply with customer needs.
  • Generate daily slitter schedule to maintain an optimal operations and proactively work on improvement plans to improve Liner cells output.
  • Lead Slitter Schedule Meetings with daily updates based on schedule adherence and collectively prioritize customer needs during production backlogs.
  • Communicate promise dates and any delays to customer service and others as needed.
  • Schedule production equipment in a manner that’s efficient for manufacturing and sales while maintaining customer requested dates.
  • Proactively participate in problem solving and brainstorming for continuous improvements in any department needed.
  • Establish and maintain safety stock program for work in process.
  • Manage WIP inventory levels and adjust min-max on safety stock plans
  • Analyze and review deviation from forecasted demand on monthly based for WIP
  • Review overtime with Production Manager
  • Adhere to all Company Safety rules and regulations
  • Attend training programs to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
  • Controls costs by proactively controlling expenses and elimination of waste.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two-year college degree or 4 years equivalent packaging experience
  • Strong computer skills; Must understand TRI SEAL iRen, PRM applications and possess well developed computer skills; ability to utilize Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software to assist in job performance.
  • Demonstrated work ethics that operates with flexibility and approaches opportunities with an open mind, an orientation towards results, a solid business perspective and a sense of urgency and ownership of the solution.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with all types of customers.
  • Detailed understanding of the flexible packaging industry, including terminology, technology and business practices.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with varying deadlines
  • Ability to work with extremely confidential information/situations and maintain confidentiality
  • An understanding of basic cost accounting principles and how individual action impact TRI SEAL cost structure.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills through all levels of management

  • Visual Acuity: Able to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
