WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil Highway Engineer for our Atlanta, Georgia office with experience in the design of major civil highway and roadway projects!
The Civil Highway Engineer will be responsible for elements of design development and plans production primarily for a variety of highway/roadway projects. Key elements of work include developing design criteria and applying it to projects, CADD production and drafting using MicroStation, creating vertical and horizontal alignments using InRoads/OpenRoads, creating existing and proposed cross sections, and electronic quantity calculations. Responsibilities will also include coordinating with other disciplines throughout the plans development process, and directing technicians.
Other key duties include:
Design analysis, plans production and other technical activities for various state and local government agencies
Coordinating with other design disciplines
Preparing plans, specifications, and bid packages
Ensuring that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
Collaboration with Staff-level Engineers
Support business development initiatives
Helping maintain client satisfaction
The WSP Atlanta office serves clients from around the state on a wide variety of projects ranging from turn lanes and widenings, intersection improvements and bridge replacements to urban interchange reconstructions and large design-build projects. This position is an excellent opportunity to continue to enhance design and production skills and build relationships within WSP as well as with a large number of clients around the state.

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) in Georgia.
3+ years of experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for transportation and infrastructure projects
Understanding of and familiarity with AASHTO and GDOT Design Guidelines and Standards
Proficiency in MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads design software
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in GA
Affiliation with professional societies and experience is highly desirable
