Job Description



Do you have IT / Cluster Admin experience at your university or company? Do you work for your department's Advanced Research Computing Center? Do you support technical applications on HPC platforms? This customer facing, technical Sales role allows you to assist MathWorks customers in evaluating and configuring MATLAB Parallel Server to run on-prem or in the cloud. You will also work with Account Reps to identify, evaluate, qualify and support MATLAB Parallel Server technical engagements. During these engagements, you'll work with Cluster Admins to deploy MATLAB Parallel Server as well as work with MATLAB/Simulink users to scale their code & models.

Less than 10% travel per year.


  • Work with IT / System and Cluster Administrators in the configuration and integration ofMATLAB Parallel Server into their HPC cluster environments.
  • Work with Account Reps in the identification, evaluation, and qualification of potential MATLAB Parallel Server opportunities.
  • Work with MathWorks' Application Engineers, Advanced Support Engineers, and Install & Licensing Specialists with escalation issues.
  • Provide customer feedback to product development.


  • Work experience in area of systems administration and high performance computing
  • Experience with one or more HPC schedulers (e.g. Slurm, PBS/Torque)
  • Experience with MATLAB is a plus
  • Experience with Cloud (AWS, Azure) is a plus
  • Experience with network troubleshooting is a plus
  • Experience with software installation and license management (e.g. FlexNet) is a plus
  • Experience with source control (e.g. Git) is a plus
  • Experience with containers (e.g. Docker, k8s) is a plus
  • Experience in a customer facing role is a plus

Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in/with Linux
  • Experience with scripting
