In this role you will:

  • Designs and tests new integrated circuits and hardware components for a wide variety of signal processing applications and research
  • Designs, documents, and develops code (to include firmware) for digital signal processors or other programmable hardware devices such as Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) hardware
  • Analyzes the function of existing integrated circuits and hardware components for the purpose of reverse engineering the hardware and firmware.
  • Conducts the necessary hardware engineering and related functions to modify and adapt vendor-manufactured hardware to meet special Government needs and contingencies
  • Modern verification techniques - building self-checking test benches, verification components (bus functional models, sequencers, drivers, monitors, scoreboards, etc.)
  • Implementing functional coverage and assertions using System Verilog
  • Understanding of object oriented concepts and designing class-based test benches
  • One or more of the following, C/C++, Perl, Python or scripting
  • Experience with ONE of the following FPGA tools: Xilinx/Intel/Microsemi design
  • Use of FPGA/ASIC simulation tools and FPGA synthesis tools

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering OR HS diploma and 12 years of hardware design engineering experience
  • Seven (7) years experience as a hardware design engineer in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design or reverse engineering
  • ACTIVE TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance

Desired / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal verification tools
  • Embedded FPGA (eFPGA) (ex Flex Logix EFLEX or Acronix Speedcore)
  • Embedded processors (ex Zynq or Microblaze or RISC)
  • Use of IP cores FPGA designs
  • Verification Environment Development

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain, or currently possess Top Secret SCI Poly clearance.
