Gathers engineering information by traveling independently to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.) as necessary.
In accordance with approved Supply Management processes and procedures, serves as owner’s representative for outside engineering contracts.

Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
LCRA's Transmission Planning Department is seeking an Electrical Engineer with knowledge of analysis techniques used to evaluate electric transmission system dynamic performance in compliance with NERC Reliability Standards in Dynamic Transmission Planning.
The engineer in this position will be tasked with studying the integration of wind energy, solar energy and battery energy storage on the LCRA transmission system through power flow contingency analysis and dynamic power system analysis. In addition, they will analyze the dynamics of the power system and develop transmission projects to address any stability violations due to system disturbances. They will also be involved with industry changing efforts through participation in working groups at many venues such as ERCOT, NERC, and NATF.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with Transmission System Dynamic and Stability analyses and load flow/power flow analysis using Siemens PSSE and/or Power World. They would also be familiar with power system protection, geomagnetic disturbances, and NERC reliability standards. Knowledge of Python and Visual Basic preferred.
