MathWorks is seeking a Director of Design Automation Product Marketing to lead the existing team responsible for the product management and marketing of the Simulink family of products. This team is ~50 product marketing staff who drive product planning, pricing and licensing, digital and traditional promotional strategies, and sales enablement and support. This position is based in Natick, MA at MathWorks headquarters and reports to the Vice President of Marketing. Most of the team is based in Natick, with some staff in other US and European cities, along with a growing team in India.
Partner with Development to drive new product strategies for Model-Based Design and the Simulink family of products. This includes synthesizing customer feedback to influence future product release plans, as well as evolving pricing, licensing, and business models when necessary.
Partner with the rest of the Marketing organization to provide content for digital marketing, events, web sites, influencer and analyst relations, and other promotional activities. Speak at external and MathWorks conferences as needed.
Enable the sales organization with training, examples and demos, product positioning, competitive assessments, and customer engagements. Visit customers to support new product adoption.
Analyze business results to identify successes, gaps, and opportunities for investments.
Propose new market and product opportunities as part of long-term planning processes.
15+ years' experience managing a high-tech product marketing organization of 30+ people
Foundational knowledge of Model-Based Design capabilities, features, and benefits, including first-hand experience with MATLAB & Simulink (or similar products) as a strong plus
Experience supporting a complex product line, designed for engineers, that spans early-stage, high-growth, and mainstream products
5+ years' experience supporting international customers and internal teams; experience at a global company
10+ years management experience, including demonstrated strength at growing teams and developing skills; has managed managers
Direct involvement in marketing strategy on projects related to product planning, pricing, promotion, and place
Engineering, science, or math degree required; engineering degree preferred
Ability to excel in a highly collaborative work environment
Strong process-orientation, exceptional organizational skills, powerful communication skills
Ability to travel 10% of the time
A bachelor's degree and 20 years of professional work experience is required. 8 years management experience is required.
