Are you passionate about cloud computing, containers and building solutions using cutting-edge technologies? The MathWorks Application Deployment team is looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to develop next-generation deployment products for cloud environments. You will be working with an outstanding team of developers with the goal of establishing MATLAB as the premier technical computing platform. Join the team to build up our cloud platform, develop cloud native applications and container-based solutions.


  • Play a key role in designing, architecting, and developing MATLAB deployment products for cloud environments.
  • Work with a multitude of AWS and Azure cloud and container services.
  • Collaborate across teams to build cloud native infrastructure and applications
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging cloud technology in Azure and AWS


  • Experience with architecting and migrating applications to the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud environments
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Java or .NET.
  • Passionate about mentorship and being part of a high performing team.
  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure automation tools such as Azure Resource Management (ARM), CloudFormation, PowerShell, Packer, etc.
  • Experience with Container technologies such as Docker, AWS ECS, Azure Container Service or Kubernetes
  • A firm grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle: iterative development, high-quality maintainable code, unit tests

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with service-oriented and microservice design
  • Experience with security best practices for cloud
  • Experience with C++ and core OS APIs
  • Familiarity with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions

Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree) is required.
