Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for an Office  Engineer (Construction) for our Stewart Airport NY Field Office Location.   Duties and Responsibilities:   We are looking for an organized, highly motivated individual, capable of completing assignments with no supervision. Under the general supervision of the Resident Engineer, performs support duties of a diverse nature requiring some independent analysis, exercise of judgment in task execution, and detailed knowledge of company procedures related to the work performed. Work may consist of a variety of duties in support of project administrative requirements.  
  • Knowledge in construction and contract administration
  • Knowledgeable in various forms of contracts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, verbal communication includes contract staff, Resident Engineer, facility staff.
  • Demonstrated ability in: Preparing and/or reviewing payment applications, performing desk audits of contractor billings, ensuring proper documentation is received from Contractors for all aspects of contract, preparing monthly reports, monitoring contracts, preparing Project Meeting Minutes, preparing general correspondence. Shop drawing tracking and distribution. Tracking of extra work, net cost work, classified item work. Capable of following through with contract closeouts.
  • Duties consist of posting information to logs; maintaining databases, records and filing systems; making follow up calls and appointments; communicating by phone, email, and 2-way radio; and coordinating processes.

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in actual construction inspection or office engineering.  PANYNJ experience is a plus..
  • Bachelors or Associate degree in business or engineering, or comparable work experience.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license
  • Ability to Pass a SWAC Background Check
  • Microsoft Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, PRIMAVERA, EXPEDITION. Will be trained for inputting information into client programs.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • This hire would be contingent upon client selection.
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Associate degree in business or engineering, or comparable work experience is desired.
