Purpose of Role:

Responsible for governance, oversight and planning for systems and solutions to support global and regional goals of the Research, Development and Quality (RDQ) organization across 11 tech centers and 7 pilot plants

Owns the roadmap for the Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) / Innovation Portfolio Management (IPM) solutions

Role works across other IT functions, governs all solution changes, retires legacy applications, manages outsourced applications (Software as a Service) / service providers, integration vendors, and collaborates with functional RDQ business partners to ensure that a harmonized approach (TCO, Security, Integration, Architecture) is maintained

Role is accountable for system activities within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) area, specifically Project and Portfolio Management for the Idea to Market (internal commercialization) process. This includes the analysis, design, and implementation of systems to deliver specified business outcomes.
Colleague will work in a cross-functional environment and will collaborate closely with Global / Local IT teams to optimize systems, data, and processes

Position will require both strong leadership skills and technical skills to deliver/support the development of technology and capability changes in apps, data, analytics, and technology. Position must understand integration points within an integrated ERP system (i.e. SAP), PLM/Supply Chain systems, master data and product information management systems. Good working knowledge of PLM and Supply Chain systems esp. for New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) / commercialization, business processes, data and analytics

Main Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions and roadmap
  • Understand the marketplace for solutions in PLM specifically Portfolio and Project Management as it relates to Idea to Market / New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) - Bring outside in views from external research partners, integrators, software providers
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements. Define the capability required to achieve business outcomes including how to measure success
  • Responsible that solutions are robust, strategically aligned and efficient to deliver and maintain including total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • Understand the connection of people, process, technology (solutions) and data
  • Implement best practices to continually improve performance of solutions, to achieve the long term strategic goals
  • Deep understanding of the solutions and data supporting key business processes for Project and Portfolio Management
  • Responsible to ensure system integrity, architecture, security and design is maintained and changes are verified working across internal and external service providers
  • Select, Align and implement solutions to meet complex requirements
  • Create and maintain plans to best enable longevity, supportability and performance of systems architecture including integration, security, and data privacy
  • Collaborate with the relevant partners (internal, external) and stakeholders to ensure project and operational performances are met
  • Own global solutions and understand E2E business work processes and data to develop/commercialize fit-for-use applications
  • Own alignment of budgets with business function and IT stakeholders at the global and local levels
  • Manage vendors to drive solutions to solve functional business problems
  • Work with globally distributed, cross-functional teams to understand new business requirements/gaps and design new solutions
  • Help the business understand system impacts to process improvements and changes
  • Work with external partners to implement new functionality based on business requirements
