The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks an experienced, strategic and dynamic leader to serve as its next Director of First-Year Admissions. The Director will play a critical role in helping to define the University's undergraduate recruitment and enrollment goals, and leading a team and a strategy to see that those goals are met. Working closely with the Enrollment Management team, the Director will be responsible for providing overall direction, leadership, and coordination of the University's first-year admissions programs and processes.

Reporting to and working closely with the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, the Director is part of the Enrollment Management leadership team and will play a critical role in developing, integrating, and aligning a strategic vision for first-year, non-transfer admissions. The new Director will sustain the University's exceptional admissions trajectory, lead a high-performing staff of admissions professionals in the continuous improvement of their methods and processes, and inspire outstanding prospective students and their families to enroll at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, management, and organizational skills, with a leadership style that relies on motivation, creative problem solving, and collaboration. The successful candidate will also have a demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in thriving programs for recruitment and admissions, and an in-depth understanding of student market trends, data analytics, and prospect development. Candidates must also possess excellent statistical, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be committed to the University's dedication to diversity. A Master's degree is required from an accredited institution in higher education, multicultural education, communications or related field.
