Come join our Geospatial and Applied Technology team and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a GIS Software Developer/Analyst for our Baltimore, MD office.  Our successful candidate will work closely with our dynamic team of transportation and ITS engineers, business analysts and GIS professionals.  WSP is seeking long-term career-oriented employee; someone who is flexible to learn new tools, enthusiastic, communicates well verbally and in writing, and enjoys talking with project managers to troubleshoot and solve unique challenges for transportation network, data, and systems.   Duties and Responsibilities: •Specialize in current ArcGIS Desktop and Mobile Javascript and Open Source GIS development frameworks •Work with enterprise Geodatabase (PostGIS, MSSQL, or Oracle) design, deployment, operations and maintenance, model builder, Python scripting, data ETL and full suite of spatial data analytics (Network, Spatial, 3D, Geoanalytics, big data science) •Translate business/functional requirements to functional software development process •Ability to complete assignments on-time and budget, discuss risk/benefit, develop or review the following materials:  use cases, statistics, database schemas, test cases, implementation guides, users guides, administration guides •Work as part of an integral team member in written and oral formats   Talent is the essence of meeting our client’s objectives, goals and challenges.  If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to have that first discussion of you joining our team. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: •BS degree in Geography, Transportation Planning, Computer Science/IT related field, or Transportation Engineering (specializing in application development) •3 years hands-on proven full-stack industry experience, including hands-on experience in full stack GIS development and GIS data analysis, front and server-side development •Development background and in depth experience with Javascript, Python languages, Front-side and Server-side Development (Linux OS and Windows), Geodatabase design/deployment, ESRI and Open Source GIS development •PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL, MSSQL, Hadoop, or Oracle geodatabase design and data structures •Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE) •Working knowledge of current application UI standards (HTML, CSS and human interfaces) •Key leadership roles in software development team and application development deliverables •Understanding of Transportation market, client requirements and datasets •A thorough knowledge and understanding of software project management (including budget/schedule requirements and effects on development methods and associated architectures)   About WSP USA   WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
