Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a Associate Materials Specialist for our Ocoee, Florida office.   Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Managing Data for Materials Department, which may include collecting and analyzing data as well as reporting and presenting the results.  
  • Helping manage and continue developing the Materials SharePoint site to better meet the needs of Materials Department. 
  • Schedule meetings and develop Agendas in coordination with Senior Managers, record and distribute meeting minutes. Help with travel requests in FDOT travel management system. Responsible for managing the inventory of Materials Department
  • Assist with materials close out and Project Final Material Certification on completed highway and bridge construction project.
  • rotate among different technical sections quarterly or at other frequency whichever more practical, for training purposes while providing support to the technical team.
    • Develop competency with inspection, testing, reporting and applying specifications for materials used in Florida Department of   Transportation (FDOT) highway and bridge construction.
    • Assist Materials Senior Managers in reviewing, analyzing and recommending the disposition of failing materials.
    • Assist with the FDOT Turnpike Independent Assurance (IA) inspection program.
    • Analyze administrative processes and recommend opportunities for streamlining and innovation

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field and at least 1 year of related work experience
  • Obtain CTQP qualifications earthwork Level I and Concrete field level I within the first year of hire
  • Strong desire to learn, and to develop organization and leadership skills
  • Interest in pursuing a career in the FDOT Construction & Materials business
