The Account Lead will be a critical partner to Biogen's MS Franchise brand team and other therapeutic areas and will champion the efforts for the Creative Center of Excellence (CCoE-Biogen's internal agency) around Portfolio Customer Initiatives, Events, Congresses and Sponsorship. S/he will maintain a strong day-to-day relationship with the Marketing team in the development and execution of short- and long-term marketing initiatives. S/he will be responsible for partnering with marketing to help drive strategic, creative and end-to-end communication plans around event sponsorships.

S/he should be knowledgeable in experiential marketing and/or event-driven marketing. The Account Lead will be responsible for oversight of event related programs specific to the CCoE and will identify ways to elevate our work and implement effective ways to create efficiencies for our business partners and internal teams.

Additionally, s/he will maintain a strong understanding of the Biogen brands and their respective markets and provides strategic guidance on agency initiatives, ensuring all work is produced on time, on budget and on strategy. Successful candidate must be collaborative, experienced and willing to take on diverse projects. Additionally, they must be able to execute effectively against multiple projects and deadlines and demonstrate ability to take initiative, anticipate needs and exercise independent and sound judgement.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to

* Dynamic lead and driver of marketing's business objectives as it pertains to the CCoE

o Build a foundation of strong knowledge around commercial strategy and markets and apply to Customer Initiatives, US Congresses and Sponsorships

o Guide and develop strategic creative briefs that articulate objectives, target, assignment, key message and success measurement

o Drive and oversee the day-to day functions of all account related responsibilities including PRC submissions

o Partner with marketing on key strategic and creative drivers for MS brand sponsorships, identifying how messaging is impacted by different audience segments

o Strong voice with the ability to lead conversations, identify and inform key decision makers and influence without authority

o Represent brand team in internal meetings, evaluating work to ensure that the CCoE is delivering on defined strategy and having a strong voice to ensure high caliber of work

o Cascade information effectively to confirm account, creative and project management teams are versed on strategic visions as they evolve

o Ability to work collaboratively alongside external partners to drive design input of the exhibit presence and other related materials

o Strong and proven knowledge of agency functional areas including, strategy, creative, digital and print

o Ensure all sponsorship/materials are following regulatory, medical and legal requirements

o Partner with Creative Management to assess creative account needs and that objectives are being met

* Oversight of marketing and cross-functional relationships

o Key marketing contact for oversight of account, day-to-day needs and larger initiatives

o Develop and maintain strong brand team relationships. Clear understanding of brand needs, expectations and long-term vision

o Partner with marketing teams during Annual Planning to develop and consolidate plan including financial projections

o Gain broad understanding of cross-functional partners, their roles and create efficient workflow between groups

o Partner with internal and external partners on critical data collection, analytical read-outs and recommendations on future state

* Maintain financial oversight of all areas of business for CCoE

o Draft annual financial plans and as-needed project estimates

o Manage any scope creep and secures all Business Owner approvals throughout process

o Report out monthly to brand teams

o Maintain utilizations rates and ensure team's time is on target

* Develop and report out all communication documentation for individual projects and relationships in general

o Creative presentations, planning, billing and leading status meetings


* 8-10 years in an agency environment. Biotech experience a plus

* 3 plus years in experiential and/or event sponsorships

* Previous experience as a people manager. Ability to mentor, develop and guide junior team members

* Strong presentation skills

* Proactive decision maker and problem solver

* Extremely detail oriented and organized

* Concise and clear communication skills

* Effective time-management

* Self-starter and accountable

* Flexibility in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to changes

* Experience with Veeva Vault or similar system helpful

* Knowledge of web-based project management system(s)
