Full-time Job Title Material Coordinator Job Description
The United States Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) requires military trained personnel capable of rapid planning, coordination, and execution of a broad array of combat medical tasks as part of their organizational mission. The Medical Readiness Training Center (MRTC) provides the required training and is located at JBSA-Camp Bullis in San Antonio, Texas
***THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD***
In support of the Medical Readiness Training Center (MRTC) the Material Coordinator will provide a variety of logistical support to twenty-three (23) training buildings and oversee $60 million in equipment and supplies. proficient in general warehousing tasks, customer support, requisition, shipping, receiving, inventory management, assembling medical kits, quality assurance (QA), and cargo preparation and deployment. This includes medical controlled items stored in a secure location, operation of various material handling equipment, utilizing/ updating records, and maintaining adequate inventory levels of each training building on the compound. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
Stocking supplies in the primary inventory area as well as numerous secondary inventory points throughout the training compound.
Perform work in a wide range of systematized logistical operations, such as performing recordkeeping functions in inventory, storage, cataloging, receipts and control processes.
Maintaining a clean environment while performing tasks that can produce dust or other infectious pollutants while transitioning between environments.
Operate computer terminals to perform records search, data input, and data corrections. Search catalogs, records, or other data sources to obtain or correct stock numbers or to find authorized substitutes for stock items.
Maintain an accurate accounting and reporting system for non-expendable property and perform standardized property management control processes.
Monitor the paperwork and records associated with receiving, storing, issuing, replenishing, and inventorying commonly used administrative supplies and equipment.
Monitor and evaluate inventory. Properly process gains and losses, manage operating inventory, perform counts, research discrepancies, process adjustments, and perform transaction history inquiries. Attention to detail is necessary to adhere to quality standards.
Monitor expiration dates, rotate stock to limit outdates, and properly dispose materials according to OSHA standards.
Deliver supplies in a timely manner and ensure supplies and material are delivered accurately and are in proper working order.
Continuously identify supplies and equipment not utilized to be turned into Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO).
Physically move materials and operate heavy equipment to move materials such as a manual pallet jack and 6k and 13k powered forklift both inside and outside of facilities
Identify steps involved with basic medical logistics in deployed location (i.e. requisitioning, accountability, and proper utilization of supplies/equipment).
Coordinate logistics activities with other base organizations, units, and government agencies; ensure the overall readiness and availability of equipment equipment/supplies; and generally manage medical material and warehouse activities
Monitor and manage vehicles for MRTC to include maintenance and program
Perform casualty movement using North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) litters and gurneys and safe loading and unloading procedures for vehicles in the deployed location to include Modular Ambulance, Highly Mobile Multipurpose Vehicle (HMMWV)
Will be required to operate/drive various government vehicles to include an ambulance, flatbed truck, HMMWV, and Light Medium Tactical Vehicle (LMTV)
High School Diploma or GED
1 year of experience as a Medical Material Technician (MMT) in a military warehouse setting
Must possess OSHA Forklift operator. Must obtain forklift operator training within three (3) months of hire date.
Familiar of Hazard Material (HAZMAT) policies and procedures.
Proficient in Defense Medical Logistics Support System (DMLSS)
Prior medical logistics experience is required and deployment experience is desired.
Computer literate and familiar with MS Office products
Must possess current valid state driver’s license AND be able to obtain and maintain a government issued driver’s license
Able to travel to other JBSA installations to attend meetings, conferences, and training
Must be U.S. citizen.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledgeable with properly handling controlled medical items according to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requirements.
Able to coordinate activities closely with others in a stressful environment
Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment while wearing appropriate safety clothing to include a safety harness, safety glasses, lift belts, and steel toe foot ware.
Able to sit, bend, and stand for extended periods of time
Able to take direction and adapt to changing situations
Able to lift up to 50 pounds from ground to waist level
Able to push loaded carts of medical supplies weighing in excess of 100 pounds
Able to walk over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; and endure recurring bending crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, and similar activities
Must possess good interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
Must be able to work with individuals at all levels AND work independently if required
Understand, speak, read and write English fluently
