Job Description
Merakey is currently seeking a Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) to join our BHRS team in the following areas, Cambria, Bedford, and Somerset PA.
About BHRS:
Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services for individuals under the age of 21 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other related disorders. Treatment takes place in the home, community or educational settings to provide transfer of skills to the individual's natural supports. Individualized care and program support work to replace problem behaviors with socially appropriate behaviors in addition to developing social, communicative and adaptive functioning skills.

Position Details:
Therapeutic Staff Support are responsible for implementation of specific interventions as described in the treatment plan, to stabilize the child or adolescent, lending support for family efforts to stabilize the child or adolescent, by transferring appropriate techniques and skills, and to promote developmentally and/or age appropriate behavior. Therapeutic Staff support are responsible to model intervention techniques for members of the treatment team (ie the parent, grandparent, care givers, teachers, Personal Care Aide) for the transfer of skills which allows for successful discharge of services. The TSS works with other members of the treatment team and other professionals working in the home or other community settings, this includes the family.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, education, criminal justice, or similar human service field, with no previous work experience, OR
- Bachelor's Degree in any other field, with the equivalent of at least one year of full-time paid work experience in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescents, OR
- Licensed registered nurses, with the equivalent of at least one year of full-time paid work experience in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescents, OR
- Associate's Degree, or sixty credits toward a Bachelor's Degree, with the equivalent of at least three years of full-time paid work experience in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescents, OR
- Licensed practical nurses, with the equivalent of at least three years of full-time paid work experience in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescent.
