Job Description

Job Scope
As a member on the Vendor Compliance and Data Integrity team, the item data specialist will be working with a team of professionals ensuring compliance to processes and data quality, and executing processes that ensures the prompt, efficient and effective of item data that can populate to downstream systems. As a retail company, the merchandise Leslie's Poolmart sells is critical to our customers, and the impact of data quality impacts our customers, reporting and ecommerce businesses daily.


  • Responsible for the creation of a continual improvement process for item data and data repository
  • Review new items entered to ensure that the data is consistent with Leslie's standards and matches other systems
  • Review item data on an ad-hoc basis in response to mis-shipments and mis-picks
  • Responsible for the execution of processing the data entry responsibilities for pricing, item information and other enterprise data as assigned.
  • Support other members of the Item Data Team responsible for on-boarding / updates / enhancements to item data
  • Review item data for anomalies, duplication, missing data; take actions to correct data through comparison with other item data sources
  • Actively maintain cross-reference of items with vendors to ensure the items orders result in the correct item fulfillment to the customer
  • Act as the gatekeeper for Item Data and Digital Asset Repository expertise, facilitating accessibility of product and data for internal and external needs

Essential Competencies

  • Contribute to the on-going management of item data.
  • Working closely with a team of stakeholders, to lead and facilitate business processes
  • Capturing and disseminating knowledge across the brands and ensuring best practice is communicated and adopted.
  • Proven organizational skills; ability to multi-task and work on several assignments concurrently; detail oriented individual with a strong quality focus
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented; able to work both autonomously and effectively as part of a team
  • Capable of accessing data and applying data analysis techniques.

  • 2-5 years of general administrative business process experience required
  • Preferred functional experience in critical functions such as Supply Chain, eCommerce, Accounting, Distribution and/or Manufacturing software systems
  • Strong preference for experience related to Item Maintenance
  • Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Strong analytic, documentation, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Efficient with multitasking between multiple projects
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft products including: MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
